Challenge Bathurst provides members with an exclusive opportunity to drive their Z on the famous Mount Panorama Racing Circuit.

There is nothing quite as exhilarating as driving a classic Z flat-out on the best 6.2km of bitumen on the planet. Most Zs can exceed 220 kph on Conrod Straight and many get over 230kph.  The unique aerodynamic characteristics of the pre wind tunnel designed Datsun Z allows drivers to experience a really light steering whilst watching the wipers lift off the windscreen as they attempt to enter the Chase without lifting off the accelerator.

Club members have participated in Challenge Bathurst since its inception in 2016 as both competitors and officials.  Prior to 2016 members regularly competed in Regularity events at Bathurst as part of the Bathurst Festival of Motorsport.

In 2019 a record of more than 50 Datsuns, mostly Zs filled 2 categories of regularity racing at Bathurst in celebration of 50 Years of the Z.
