Datsun 240Z & 260Z Register of WA (Club) values and respects the privacy of the people we deal with. The Club is committed to protecting your privacy and complying with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) (Privacy Act) and other applicable privacy laws and regulations.

This Privacy Policy (Policy) describes how we collect, hold, use and disclose your personal information, and how we maintain the quality and security of your personal information.

In general terms, this includes information or an opinion that personally identifies you either directly (e.g. your name) or indirectly.

 The personal information we collect about you depends on the nature of your dealings with us, and what you choose to share with us.

Sensitive Information

For members who avail themselves of Code 404 or Code C4C licensing the Department of Transport requires that additional sensitive information is collected that may include:

  •       License Number
  •       Date of Birth
  •       Vehicle(s) VIN
  •      Vehicle(s) engine number

How do we collect your personal information?

 We collect your personal information directly from you when you:

  •       Apply for membership
  •       Apply for concessional licensing
  •       Interact with us in person
  •       Interact with us online
  •       Participate in surveys or questionnaires
  •       Attend a Club event

How do we use your personal information?

We use personal information for the following purposes:

  • To email, SMS, or post to you newsletters, push notifications, correspondence and other material advising of Club activities and events
  • To provide you with information or services that you request from us
  • Manage the concessional Code 404 and Code C4C vehicle database
  • Maintain an impromptu vehicle run log to comply with Code 404 requirements
  • To enhance and improve your experience as a user of our Website
If you no longer wish to receive communications from the Club you may notify us either by emailing secretary@wazregister.com with your request to be taken off our mailing lists or you can unsubscribe by using then Club web portal.

Financial Data

The Club does not retain any financial data from EFT or online payments using a credit card.

The Club has made a conscious decision not accept recurring payments, phone payments, or email payments, so as to avoid the necessity of obtaining and retaining financial data.

The online payments service provider is required to maintain transactional records for a prescribed period of time to comply with regulations including anti-terrorism and anti-money laundering laws.

Disclosure of personal information to third parties

We may disclose your personal information to third parties in accordance with this Policy in circumstances where you would reasonably expect us to disclose your information. For example, we may disclose your personal information:

  • If required to do so by law, such as in response to a court order or subpoena
  • To the Department of Transport to facilitate audit compliance of the Club being an "authorized motoring club" and compliance with "Code 404" and "Code C4C "Licensing.
  • Our third party service providers (for example, our IT providers)
  • If we believe that  you or a third party is at risk of bodily harm
  • If we believe it is necessary to protect the rights, property or safety of the Club, its members, or the general public
The Club will not share, on-sell or provide free of charge any of your personnel details for marketing or research purposes.

Transfer of personal information overseas

Our Web Site is provided by Personify “WildApricot” based in Ontario, Canada.  The web site, including the integrated membership database, is hosted by Amazon Web Services using servers in the Unites States of America.  

Prior to selecting WildApricot membership software the committee conducted investigations to assure themselves that WildApricot has appropriate technical and organizational measures to ensure a level of security appropriate to the risk, including:

  • The ability to ensure the ongoing confidentiality, integrity, availability and resilience of processing systems and services;
  • The ability to restore the availability and access to Personal Data in a timely manner in the event of a physical or technical incident;
  • A process for regularly testing, assessing and evaluating the effectiveness of technical and organizational measures for ensuring the security of the processing; and
  • The ability to enable measures for:
    • Pseudonymisation and encryption of personal data;
    • User identification and authorization
    • The protection of data during transmission
    • The protection of data during storage
    • Ensuring physical security of locations at which personal data are processed
    •  Ensuring events logging.

Security and Confidentiality

Club will take reasonable steps to ensure that the personal information that we hold about you is kept confidential and secure, including by:

  •       having a robust physical security of our databases / records
  •       taking measures to restrict access to only personnel who need that personal information to effectively provide services to you

 Additional measures are taken to ensure the confidentially of Sensitive Information including:

  •       not storing sensitive information in the membership database
  •       restricting access to sensitive data to those who have a requirement to access it

This website and electronic communication from us to you may include links to third-party websites, and social media applications. Clicking on those links or enabling those connections may allow third parties to collect or share data about you. We do not control these third-party websites and are not responsible for their privacy statements.

Third party providers / websites are responsible for informing you about their own privacy practices and we encourage you to read their privacy policies.

 Cookies

The Club’s website uses cookies. A cookie is a small file of letters and numbers the website puts on your device if you allow it. These cookies recognize when your device has visited our website(s) before, so we can distinguish you from other users of the website. This improves your experience and the Clubs website(s).

We do not use cookies to identify you, just to improve your experience on our website(s). If you do not wish to use the cookies, you can amend the settings on your internet browser so it will not automatically download cookies. Retention of Information

Whilst you are a member of the Club your data will be maintained in our members database.

When you cease to be a member your data will be archived and kept for a period of two years in compliance with our data retention requirements. After the expiry of two years we will extract and delete your archived data.  There is no ability to recover information deleted.

How to access and correct your personal information

The Club will endeavor to keep your personal information accurate, complete and up to date.

The personal information we hold about you may be accessed, and updated by you, using the Club Membership Web Site portal.

If you wish the Club to correct the personal information we hold about you, you should make a request by contacting membership@wazregister.com and we will aim to respond respond within 14 days.

Deletion of Information

If you wish that your information be deleted you should make a request by contacting membership@wazregister.com, and we will aim to respond within 14 days.

Subject to compliance with data retention requirements, we will delete your information from all fields in the members database and then archive a blank record containing only a system generated identifier.  There is no ability to recover information deleted.

Enquiries and complaints

For complaints about how Club handles, processes or manages your personal information, please contact secretary@wazregistrar.com.

Note we may require proof of your identity and full details of your request before we can process your complaint.

Please allow up to 14 days for the Club to respond to your complaint. It will not always be possible to resolve a complaint to everyone’s satisfaction. If you are not satisfied with Club’s response to a complaint, you have the right to contact the Office of Australian Information Commissioner (at www.oaic.gov.au/) to lodge a complaint.
